How IGYBuddy SMS opt-in works
This public page documents the exact consent flow shown to an invited buddy. It does not enroll visitors. The real choice appears after the buddy opens a private invitation and verifies control of their phone number.

Buddy invitation acceptance
A buddy first requests a one-time verification code and enters that code. The SMS-alert choice is then shown unchecked and remains optional; the invitation can be accepted without enabling recurring SMS alerts.
1. Verify the invited phone
The buddy actively requests a one-time code. Requesting the code does not enroll the buddy in recurring SMS alerts.
2. Choose whether to enable SMS alerts
This checkbox is always off by default and is separate from accepting the buddy invitation, Terms and Privacy Policy.

What recipients receive
- Non-marketing account notifications and scheduled buddy-check prompts only.
- Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply.
